Chicks Dig Scars

We've had a bit of an incident at our house this past 10 days and it's been hard to deal with, so I haven't felt like posting much. On the 13th Tim bit Luke. I had to run him to the ER for stitches. Very traumatizing. Lucas was all cool and collected and I'm shaking and crying at the registration desk. Have I ever felt so stupid and under qualified to be a parent? Hmm, so far this takes the cake, but I'm sure the stupid moments and second guessing has just begun. Luke was a trooper at the Hospital. He was fine until they wrapped him like a burrito and started stitching. Then he wailed the whole time. The staff was quite impressed. It required 2 nurses and the Dr. to keep him under control. They said that usually babies cry themselves out. But NOT my child. Nuh Uh. If nothing else he's persistent. Well, to top everything else, I had to find Tim a new home. So basically I was crying everyday since the 13th. Do I question whether it was the right decision? No. Absolutely not. But it's strange how attached you can become to a pet, even when they're naughty beyond imagination. But as fate would happen one of my friends had recently lost his dog due to age and complications. He lives with his mom, who he cares for, and he couldn't stand the thought of us taking Tim to the pound. It's turned out to be a match made in heaven. He loves his new "Daddy" and "Nana" that spoil him completely rotten. And they don't have little kids running around the house scaring him. It's been a strange week of adjustments for our family.

Here are a couple pictures of Luke after we got his stitches out. Poor thing had one internal stitch and 8 external stitches. He's got a nifty Harry Potter scar going one. But we're using Bio Oil on it and hopefully it heals up nicely.

This last picture was taken today after he's discovered poppy seed muffins and is in L.O.V.E. As you can see it's healing pretty good. And if you're wondering if he's scared of dogs now the answer is NO. He still runs up to Minnie and Bruno to give them a hug. And I am so grateful that they are infinitely patient with him. Luke has run up to Minnie sleeping in her chair and smacked her with one of his toys - obviously trying to show her (he does the same to us). And even though she was startled from a lovely state of nothingness, she just leaned over and gave him a sloppy kiss (he giggled) and she laid her head back down and closed her eyes.

The Deck

It seems that Luke has finally discovered our deck. The weather has been gorgeous lately and I couldn't resist opening up the door in our bedroom to let the warm air in. Next thing I know Luke just toddles out there. And then he didn't want to come back in. He just wandered around outside singing to himself, talking to the dogs and enjoying being outside. This boy would live outside permanently if he could.
Exploring

He and Bruno had such a good time together.

That is the cutest face ever.

Can you blame him for wanting to be outside...look at that sky!

The Park

There is this cute little park just down the road from my work that has swings and lots of room to run. And since yesterday was just absolutely beautiful outside, Luke and I decided to make the trip. There was lots of exploring to be had, and lots of observing. Being the only child in our house, Luke misses out on some socialization. He was just watching everyone trying to soak up all they were doing. But we had a great time.

Oh, I am in L.O.V.E. with him in overalls. Can't stand how cute he is. And to wrap up our fun little excursion, we stopped by McDonald's and shared a vanilla cone. Perfection.

From my cell phone

I'm sitting here listening to "Fiddler on the Roof" on the computer and Luke and Minnie are fighting over an empty bottle of water. Just a slice of my life. Often times quite random, and I love it. I've been going through the pictures I have on my cell phone today and thought I'd post some of them. I try to send out pictures via phone as often as possible, but since some don't receive, I'll post them here.

I've been dying here with my old dumb phone. Everyone I know has gotten a cool phone...seriously, even the little grannies that work for me have cooler phones. Kills me. So I've vowed to myself that I will be buying a new "sexy" phone. Yes, I said sexy, and Yes, I'm referring to a phone. My requirements. I want to have good Internet access and data plan. And it's going to have a AWESOME camera. I find that I take more pictures on my phone than the camera, since I always have my phone with me to capture the cute moments. Someday....

So without further a do... here are the pictures. Sorry if they are a little small or blurry. Refer to the previous paragraph where I mention sexy phones.

Luke has a woobie. Translate: blankie. And he likes to carry it around. Woobies are not just for bed time.

Luke L.O.V.E.S. the stairs. He'll play on them most of the time we're down stairs. We're still working on how to come down the stair.

Luke loves bath time. And wishes it was bath time all the time. He's always trying to climb into my tub.

I try and try to comb his hair down flat. I spray the heck out of it with water or detangler and brush and brush. As you can see here it's already curling up immediately after I brush.

Luke likes to help and explore. Here he is helping put away groceries.

And helping again with the dishes.

Eating a banana. This kid has serious texture issues. Prefers everything in the consistency of pudding. Really. And about 30 seconds after this picture he mushed it up and fed it to the dogs.

Sitting in his rocking chair with Elmo. Could he be any cuter?

Luke spent a day with Matt's friends and their 2 year old. Apparently there's no shame in his game because Dani was caught giving him kisses. Hahaha!
